The use of (KenKen) activities to develop inferential numerical thinking and math skills among students of the fourth basic level in the Sultanate of Oman

Abstract

Abstract
The study aimed to identify the use of (KenKen) activities in developing numerical inferential thinking and math skills. For primary fourth grade pupils in the Sultanate of Oman. The study sample consisted of (62) male and female students from Al Salam Basic Education School (1-4) in Dhofar Governorate, and they were divided into two groups. Experimental (30) male and female students, and control (32) male and female students, applying to them the numerical inferential thinking test, and testing the skills of the four arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), pre and post application, and the results of the study showed the presence of a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) for the benefit of the experimental group that was exposed to the use of (KenKen) activities compared to the performance of students of the control group, and the study recommended the importance of employing (KenKen) activities in developing numerical inferential thinking and skills of arithmetic operations Because of its positive effectiveness in raising the level of inferential numerical thinking among students, increasing the fun of learning, and developing basic mathematical operations skills.
