" Effectiveness of a Training Program using Creative Drama in Treatment and Modification of Behavioral Disorders of Children with Mental Retardation whom are Able to Learn"

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of a training program using creative drama in Treatment and modification of behavioral disorders of children with mental retardation whom are able to learn. Sample of study consisted of (20) children of those with mental retardation whom are able to learn at Southern Burydah Intellectual Education Institute, Qassim Region, Saudi Arabia, there IQ range is (50-70) degree, and their age range between (6-11) years. They were divided into two groups: an experimental group of (10) children, and a control group of (10) children. The creative drama training program was applied to the experimental group; however, the Behavioral disorders scale was applied to the two groups, The result of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the average ranks scores of the experimental group and the control group of children with mental retardation whom are able to learn on the Behavioral disorders scale after the application of the creative drama program in favor of the experimental group. It was also found that there were statistically significant differences between the average ranks scores of the experimental group in the pre and post application of the creative drama program on the Behavioral disorders scale in favor of the post application. It was also found that there were no statistically significant differences between the average ranks scores of the experimental group in post and follow application of the training program on the Behavioral disorders scale after two months the application of the program.
