The fact of using smart phone applications in the educational process among faculty members from female postgraduate students at the Faculty of Education, King Saud University

Abstract


This study aimed to identify the fact of using smart phone applications in the educational process among faculty members from the perspective of female postgraduate students at the Faculty of Education, King Saud University. To achieve this objective, the analytical descriptive method was used. The study sample consisted of (114) and the study data were analyzed using a set of statistical methods: frequency, percentages, arithmetic averages, and standard deviations. The results of the study indicated that female postgraduate students at King Saud University agree moderately on the extent to which faculty members use smart phones in the educational process, and to a very high degree on the importance of using smart phones in the educational process. The study results also indicated that there are positive attitudes of postgraduate students at King Saud University towards the use of smart phones in the educational process. In addition, there are moderate difficulties facing female postgraduate students when using smart phone applications in the educational process. These are the recommendations of the study: conducting seminars and workshops to sensitize faculty members on the importance of using smart phone applications in the educational process, including training programs for faculty members on how to use smart phone applications in the educational process, issuing a guiding handbook about using smart phones in educational process in a digital and printed way for female postgraduate students.
