Abstract

The current research aimed to develop the level of creative thinking and achievement among the Islamic Education Department students at Umm Al Qura University via the meta-cognitive strategies. The quasi-experimental method was adopted (pre-post test with control group) for fulfilling the study purpose. The participants of the study were (68) female students enrolled in the Islamic Education Department who were deliberately selected as they were studying in the educational preparation program. The experimental group included 35 students while the control one included 33 students. The results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the mean scores attained by the experimental group and the control one in favor of the experimental group. The results of the study confirmed the effectiveness of the meta-cognitive strategies in developing the level of creative thinking and achievement level among the study participants
