Abstract

The current study aims to develop an e-learning program using Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) and to investigate its effectiveness in enhancing e-teaching skills and systemic intelligence among pre-service geography teachers. The research was conducted using the descriptive analytical method for the theoretical framework and the experimental method for the practical part of the study. A list of essential e-teaching skills for pre-service geography teachers was prepared, along with a list of systemic intelligence dimensions, a teaching scenario for the Moodle environment, and the e-learning program itself using Moodle. Additionally, a faculty guide, a student-teacher user manual, a performance evaluation checklist for e-teaching skills (both in paper and digital formats), and a systemic intelligence scale (also in paper and digital formats) were developed. The research tools were applied to a sample of 80 fourth-year pre-service geography teachers at the Faculty of Women, Ain Shams University, during the academic year 2023–2024. The findings revealed that the e-learning program using Moodle had a significant and effective impact on the development of both e-teaching skills and systemic intelligence. There was a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.01) between the pre- and post-application mean scores of the experimental group in both the performance evaluation checklist and the systemic intelligence scale. The study recommended giving greater attention to the development of e-teaching skills and systemic intelligence through the integration of electronic learning environments, particularly Moodle, in the fields of Geography and Social Studies.
