Charismatic Personality and Mental Toughness as Predictors of Job Involvement among a Sample of Teachers of Ordinary People and People with Special Needs (a Psychometric-Clinical Study)

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between charismatic personality and job engagement, and the relationship between mental toughness and job engagement among study sample, explain the differences between study sample in each of: charismatic personality, mental toughness, and job engagement according to gender, years of experience, type of school, and academic stage, and to predict job engagement among study sample through each of: charismatic personality, mental toughness, as well as to identify the difference in the clinical picture of high and low job engagement among study sample.The study sample consisted of (354) teachers, including (217) teachers of regular students and (137) teachers of students with special needs.The researchers used the following tools: the charismatic personality scale, the job engagement scale -prepared by the researchers- and the mental toughness scale prepared by: McGeown, et al. (2016), translated by the researchers, Sacks Sentence Completion Test prepared by: Levy, Sacks (1995), translated by /Muhammad Ahmed Khattab (2022), case study, diagnostic interview -prepared by the researchers-, and the study reached the following results: There is a statistically significant positive correlation between charismatic personality and job engagement, and between mental toughness and job engagement among study sample, there is no statistically significant effect of gender, years of experience, type of school, and academic stage on the study variables, and it is possible to predict job engagement among study sample through charismatic personality, mental toughness, and there is difference in the clinical picture of high and low job engagement among study sample.
