Obstacles to the Utilization of Artificial Intelligence Applications and Strategies for Overcoming them: Perspectives from Secondary School Teachers in the Al-Baha Region

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of obstacles in utilizing artificial intelligence applications and ways to overcome them from the perspective of high school teachers, and to reveal differences according to certain variables. The study employed the descriptive method, and the study tool was a questionnaire developed by the researcher. The study sample consisted of 130 high school teachers (male and female) from secondary schools in the Al-Baha Education Administration, The results showed that the evaluative level of the responses of high school teachers on the first axis (obstacles to employing artificial intelligence applications) was high, followed by (difficulty adapting to changes in programs and applications), then (lack of suitable training and professional development), and lastly (lack of available technological resources), The results also showed that the evaluative level of the responses of high school teachers on the second axis (ways to overcome obstacles in employing artificial intelligence applications) was high. There were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of high school teachers in the overall score of the first axis and its sub-dimensions attributed to the gender variable (male, female). However, there were statistically significant differences at the significance levels (0.01, 0.001) between the mean scores of high school teachers in the overall score of the first axis (obstacles to employing artificial intelligence applications) and its sub-dimensions attributed to the educational level variable (bachelor's, master's) in favor of the bachelor's degree. Additionally, there were statistically significant differences at the 0.001 level between the mean scores of the study sample members in the overall score of the first axis and its sub-dimensions according to the differences in years of experience and the number of training courses.
