Developing Human Resources Management in Saudi Private Schools to Achieve Competitive Advantage: A Proposed Scenario

Abstract

 
The study aims to provide a proposed vision for the development of human resources management functions to achieve competitive advantage in private schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by diagnosing the status of the following human resources management functions: (Planning, Recruitment, Training, Evaluation) and determining the requirements for developing human resources management functions in order to achieve competitive advantage in private schools. The study follows the descriptive approach using its two ways (documentary and survey). The study uses interviewing along with a questionnaire as research tools for data collection. The research sample consists of male and female principals of private schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The sample was selected according to Morgan's table. In addition, a group of (14) experts from educational leaders, and from the private sector (CEOs of educational companies), are purposefully selected. The study has reached the following conclusions: The study participants have indicated a moderate level of agreement regarding the implementation of human resources management functions to attain a competitive advantage in private schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Notably, the dimension of human resources recruitment holds the highest priority. Subsequently, the dimension of human resources planning follows in order of significance. Occupying the third position is the dimension of human resources training, while the evaluation of human resources performance is identified as the least prioritized dimension. In light of these findings, the study presents several recommendations, the most prominent of which include adopting the proposed vision for the development of human resources management to achieve a competitive advantage in private schools and establishing a dedicated unit for human resources management to support the optimal implementation of its functions.
