Qualitative Research Obstacles in the Fundamentals of Education in the Saudi Universities

Abstract

The current study aimed at investigating the qualitative research in the
Fundamentals of Education specialization in the Saudi universities via
diagnosing the status-quo of the qualitative research utilization and finding
out the obstacles that prevent the adoption of qualitative research in the
Fundamentals of Education specialization in the Saudi universities. The
study adopted the descriptive method (survey) via administering a
questionnaire to the Fundamentals of Education specialization staff
members (totaling 108). The results of the study revealed that the
quantitative research gains prevalence more than the qualitative research in
relation to the scientific theses (Masters, Ph.Ds) in the Fundamentals of
Education specialization in the Saudi universities (95%). Furthermore,
there were few studies adopted the qualitative research, the post graduate
students showed sever weakness concerning the qualitative research due to
the preparation courses offered to the postgraduate students specialized in
the Fundamentals of Education in the Saudi universities. The weakness of
the disseminating the qualitative research culture, the scarcity of experts
specialized in qualitative research in Saudi universities and the usage of
