Methods and areas of physical education in Islam and the family's role in developing it.

Abstract

This research aims to elaborate the concept of physical education and
its importance in the child's education, in addition to explaining its most
important methods and areas in Islam, and the family's role in developing it
for a pre-school child. The researcher adopted the deductive and descriptive
methods. The research consisted of five topics. The First: the general frame
of the research. The Second: The importance of physical education in
Islam. The Third: Methods of physical education in Islam. The Fourth:
Areas of physical education in Islam. The Fifth: The family's role in
applying physical education in Islam to a pre-school child. Finally, The
results and recommendations.
The research reached in its findings that a great attention and care is
given to physical education in Islam. It adopts a number of educational
methods, among which are: good example, practice and training, repetition,
graduation, direct guidance, and motives' arousal. Also, the research

indicated that physical education in Islam has several areas, such as
worship, sports, playing, manners and behaviours and work.
Moreover, the research recommended the necessity of parents' and
educators' realization of the significance of mobility and activity in raising
a child and developing him in all aspects of growth, in addition to the
necessity of providing an educational environment, educational situations
and enough spaces that enable the child to practice all motor activities
freely and smoothly. Besides, the research recommended to guide young
people to the use of modern technology in a proper way that meets the
requirements of their motor development.
