The Role of Social Studies Teachers in Enhancing the Arabic and Islamic Identity of Secondary School Students

Abstract
This study aimed to identify the level of secondary stage social studies
teachers practicing of their role in promoting the Arab Islamic identity, as well as to evaluate the impact of the variables (gender, specialization, scientific qualification, years of experience, and training courses) on the
level of teachers practicing of these roles. This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on (127) male and female secondary school teachers in AlMadinah Al-Munawarah. The questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. The findings indicated that the level of secondary stage social studies teachers practicing of their role in promoting the Arab Islamic identity came with moderate level with an average of (2.76). The study further revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the average responses of the study members regarding their role in promoting the Arab Islamic identity due to the variables (gender, specialization, qualification, experience, training courses). Based on the findings the study recommends that it is necessary to include educational content about the role of social
studies teachers in promoting the Arab Islamic identity in the training of teachers before and during service..
