The Role of Modern Technologies in Developing the Teaching Skills of Primary School Teachers from their Point of View

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the role of modern technologies in developing the teaching skills of teachers in the primary stage, and to identify the effect of the gender variable (male and female teachers) on the trends towards the use of these technologies in education, and the descriptive analytical method was used in the research in addition to the questionnaire in order to identify the opinions of teachers. Their view of the role of modern technologies in developing teaching skills in primary schools in Iraq, where the research was applied to a sample of male and female teachers in the Directorate of Education in Karbala Governorate. The number of members of the sample reached (167) from various schools in the center of the governorate, and the results of the research were:
- Technologies in developing the teaching skills of primary school teachers in Iraq because of their great positives that are reflected in the educational process. There are also obstacles and difficulties that stand in the way of using these modern technologies in primary schools.
- There are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the averages of male and female teachers’ answers according to the gender variable, in favor of (female) teachers.
Accordingly, some recommendations were made, such as the need to support the trend in using modern technologies in the educational process in primary schools because of their great benefit to the teacher and the learner, and to hold specialized training courses in modern technologies to develop teaching skills that are mandatory for male and female teachers, and to provide the necessary material capabilities to provide primary schools with modern technologies and equipment.
