Abstract

The study explores the scientific productivity of faculty members in Yemeni universities by identifying the determinants related to society, the determinants related to the faculty member, and the determinants related to the university with the aim of developing a proposed vision for scientific productivity enhancement. To this end, the analytical descriptive method was used. Data were collected via interviews that included 3 main questions and 26 sub-questions, as well as one close-ended question administered to 28 faculty members recruited from Taiz university, Sana’a university, Ibb university, and Aden university. The results showed the existence of determinants related to the society with agreement rates ranging between (85.71% and 100%), determinants related to the faculty member with agreement rates ranging between (75% and 100%), and determinants related to the university with agreement rates ranging between (82.14% and 100%). The results also indicated that the most influential determinants were those related to the society, followed by the ones related to the university, and finally university-related determinants. The study proposed a vision to reduce and overcome these determinants, and recommended that concerned entities adopt it.
