Creative Traits and their Relationship to Explicit and Implicit Memory among Gifted and Learning Disabled Students

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of association of implicit and explicit memory with creative traits among gifted students and those with learning difficulties, and the extent of differences between them in explicit and implicit memory, as well as the degree of differences in creative traits. For the gifted at 0.01, while the level of significance for those with learning difficulties varied between (correlation coefficients between implicit memory and the attributes (fluency, originality and flexibility) as well as the total degree of creativity, all of which were significant at (0.01) and (0.05) and some features were non-significant. Also, the values ​​of the correlation coefficients between the explicit memory and the creative features of the gifted and those with learning difficulties were between (0.05) and non-significant. Learning in implicit memory with word and picture tests for the benefit of the gifted. Significant differences were also found between the gifted and those with learning disabilities in the creative traits using the Torrance test for creative thinking. Creative for the gifted.
