Professional contemplative practice and its relationship to the self-efficacy of middle school science teachers in Riyadh

Abstract

The research aims to investigate the level of professional meditative practice and its relationship to self-efficacy among middle school science teachers in the city of Riyadh. The data were collected through two questionnaires; The first is a measure of professional contemplative practice, and the other is for measuring self-efficacy, on a sample intent of 190 middle school teachers in the city of Riyadh, and the validity and reliability of the two tools were verified.
The main findings of the research are summarized in two points: First: The practices of teachers of professional contemplative sciences have come - in a general way - high, as the research has found that there are no statistically significant differences between the study sample in their professional contemplative practices with different years of their teaching experience, and two: The self-efficacy of science teachers came - in general - medium, as the results showed that the statements describing the personal effectiveness of the teacher have obtained high averages, while the phrases that got an average rate are related to the expectation of the outputs.
