Content analysis of "My Beautiful Language" textbook for sixth elementary grade in the light of listening skills

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the extent to which listening skills are included in the book My Beautiful Language for the sixth grade of primary school, and the current study followed the descriptive approach based on content analysis, as it is the most appropriate to reach the objectives of the study and answer its questions. Saudi Arabia, in its first and second semesters of the academic year (1442 AH), and the researchers used the content analysis card tool as a basic tool in the analysis process. This list included (3) main skills: the listening comprehension skill, the listening analysis skill, and the listening criticism skill, These three skills included (19) sub-skills, and the total number of repetitions for all objectives was (211), and The researchers recommended the need to pay more attention to listening skills in textbooks by curricula authors and those in charge of preparing the content of textbooks, with interest in offering lessons based on developing students’ listening skills, in order to achieve comprehensiveness in developing students’ listening skills, which have The biggest role in highlighting the student's personality, modifying his behavior and increasing his experiences.
