The perceptions of the science female teachers of the intermediate schools towards the Nature of Science NOS according to the Next Generation Science Standards NGSS.

Abstract


This study aims to detect exploring the perceptions of the intermediate school science teachers on the concepts of the nature of science NOS according to next generation science standards NGSS. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used a descriptive approach. The study sample consists of (226) intermediate school female science teachers, who were randomly chosen from Riyadh city representing 30% of the teachers community. The tool was designed in a form of a survey that consists of 25 points.  
After the analysis process, the researchers found out some results and the most important of them are: The female science teachers have a high and correct perception of the nature of science, where the average response of the sample of the study on the standard of the nature of science according to NGSS.  
The results reveal that there are no statistically significant differences in the teachers perception of the nature of science according to NGSS due to specialization and years of experience. 
Based upon the study results, the researchers provided a number of recommendations and suggestions for further studies
