Effectiveness of the Driver Model in Teaching Chemistry at the level of academic achievement of first-year students in the city of Makkah

     The present study aimed to identify effectiveness of Driver Model raising the level of academic achievement in Chemistry of secondary school female pupils in structure of the atom unit for the first semester and the. the study was based on a quasi-experimental approach، the sample consisted of 112 female pupils، divided into two groups: experimental consisting of (57) studied using Driver Model، control group consisted of (55) studied in the usual way. The researcher prepared achievement in Chemistry test، a guide for the teacher and activity notebook، and using the t-test for two independent، and ETA square equation to calculate the effect size. Study yielded the following results: there are statistically differences in (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of pupils of the experimental group in pre and post measurement in the diagnosis alternative conceptions of Scientific Concepts and achievement in the direction of the post. And the value of Eta square was high.
