Abstract

The present research aimed at questioning the effectiveness of teaching science via learning for using model in developing achievement among the primary stage pupils. The quasi-experimental method was adopted and an achievement test in science was developed by the researcher for fulfilling the purpose of the research. The participants of the research were 50 pupils from the sixth year who were enrolled in the educational directorate of Asir Region. The participants were randomly categorized into two equivalent groups, namely, the experimental group (totaling 25 students) studied “the environmental systems and resources” via the teaching for using model, and the control one (totaling 25 student) studied the same unit via the usual method of teaching. The administration time lasted for 12 sessions and the achievement test was administered before and after the treatment to both groups. The results of the research revealed that there were statistically significant differences at 0.05 level between the mean scores attained by the experimental and control groups in the post achievement test in favor of the experimental group.
