Evaluation of the sixth grade English language curriculum with respect to quality requirements and academic accreditation from the teachers and education supervisors’ perspectives in Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The present research aims to evaluate, based on quality standards, the English language curriculum of the grade in elementary level in Saudi Arabia, sixth. To evaluate the English language curriculum, the study adopted a quality standards survey as a tool for the evaluation. The survey consists of (7) standards, and (104) indicators. A sample of (183) teachers and supervisors (males and females) who specialized in teaching the English language in the education departments has been selected to respond to the survey. The educational departments include (Ar Rass- Riyadh, Medina- Bisha- Al-Jouf - Yanbu). The findings of the study showed that of the sixth grade of the elementary school, the degree of achieving the quality standards of English language curriculum was low, where the responses ranged from "neutral" and “highly disagree”, but the overall rate of achieving the standards was 57 percent.
