Neural perfectionism and its relationship to optimism among high school students

Abstract

This Research aimed to identify the correlational relationship between neurotic perfectionism and optimism among super-achievers of secondary stage, and detect the differences between them in neurotic perfectionism and optimism by differ in gender and specialty. Sample of study consisted of (150) students of second year whose super-achievers, (75 males, 75 females), according to specialty (77 scientific, 73 art). Researcher used scales of neurotic perfectionism and optimism, and successive matrix test prepared by Raven (1937) prepared and translated into Arabic Sayed Abdel-Aal (1983). Research results reached to there was negative significant correlational relationship at (0.01) between neurotic perfectionism and optimism among students of second year secondary whose super-achievers, also there were significant differences at (0.01) toward females in neurotic perfectionism, and toward males in optimism, but there were not significant differences in these variables by differ in specialty (scientific- art)
