Career Development Program Based on professional Competencies for Developing Self Awareness and Creative Teaching among Teachers of Philosophy

Abstract

The current research attempts to develop Self awareness among teachers of philosophy through Career Development Program based on professional competencies. To achieve this goal, the researcher administered the research tool: an observation a scale of Self awareness.  The research group consisted of (32) teachers of philosophy. The experimental group received treatment through the program based on professional competencies. Pre-post administrations of research tools were applied to the experimental group. After analyzing data, the results indicated that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre / post administrations on the level of Self awareness in favor of the post administration. Consequently, the impact of the Career Development Program based on the professional competencies in developing Self awareness among teachers of philosophy was very large. The researcher recommends that the course of the renewed professional competencies should be included in programs for preparing and training teachers of philosophy. The researcher also recommends continuing to upgrade academic and professional level of philosophy teachers,.The necessity of including Self awareness in Career Development Programs for the teacher of philosophy, and support distinct educational ideas within schools, is also recommended.
