Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the efforts of civil societies by identifying societal factors that cause exacerbation of illiteracy problems, whether they are economic factors such as poverty and social factors such as overpopulation, educational factors such as dropout from education as well as insufficient laws and legislation in the field of literacy, and to identify the reality of efforts Civil societies in the field of illiteracy eradication in Egypt, as well as identifying the difficulties facing NGOs and impeding them from implementing their programs in the field of illiteracy eradication. The study reached the importance of the efforts of these societies in the field of illiteracy eradication One of the capabilities and activities it undertakes in the field of literacy And the necessity to coordinate and activate the partnership between the official governmental efforts with the efforts of the civil societies and the rest of the civil society institutions and the continuous follow-up of the illiterate after the end of their studies, as well as work to enable the illiterate economically, socially and culturally so that they do not wear back to the illiteracy, through the establishment of productive projects that contribute to overcoming economic obstacles That prevent illiterate people from going to literacy classes.
