The requirements of scientific culture in the science book developed for the third intermediate grade in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, "an analytical study"

Abstract

ABSTRACT
The research aims to identify the scientific culture demands he demands which should be included in the developed science book of the third intermediate grade, and to learn about the availability of the scientific culture demands in the developed science book of the third intermediate grade.
The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, where she analyzed the developed science book of the third intermediate grade (both Volumes) edition in 1432 (research sample), and the researcher used the analytical tool that has been developed to comply with the objectives of the research. It included the four requirements of the scientific culture. Fifty one (51) criteria were classified under it.
The results shows that there is a defect in the balance between the demands of the scientific culture in the content of the developed science book of the third intermediate grade book in Saudi Arabia in addition to a decline in the representation of some of these demands in the content where the percentage of the included basic scientific knowledge requirement is (66.16%) , the requirement of science and practice in solving problems is (29.41%) ,the requirement of the environment and how to deal with it is (2.26%) and finally, the requirement the issues of interaction between science, technology and society is (2.17%).
In light of these results, the research recommends the need to ensure a balance between the demands of the scientific culture in the content of the developed science book of the third intermediate grade book and to include issues falling under these demands, which did not receive any addressing in the content, and to focus on increasing the topics related to the environment.
