Research abstract:
The objective of the research is to identify research productivity constraints for the faculty members of the Islamic University in Madinah from their point of view, and to find out the differences in the research productivity for the faculty members of the Islamic University in Madinah from their point of view according to the variables of the career grade (Assistant Professor - Associate Professor - Professor), specialization (theoretical - practical), nationality (Saudi – non Saudi), and propose ways to activate research productivity for faculty members of the Islamic University in Madinah in light of the field study results.
The research used the descriptive approach to deal with its subject, using a questionnaire on the field side, applied to a sample of the faculty members of the Islamic University in Madinah as (124) members.
The study results concluded that the faculty members of the Islamic University in Madinah face the constraints of research productivity with a large extent; The constraints related to the institutions of society were at the forefront of obstacles, followed by the constraints related to the university, and finally the constraints associated with faculty members. And the largest constraints to research productivity are "work pressures (teaching - examination work - correction - supervision)", "the difficulty of obtaining university approval to attend conferences", and "weak of research cooperation between researchers from different universities". The research also found that there are no statistically significant differences between the research sample towards the constraints of research productivity of the the faculty members of the Islamic University in Madinah in each of its aspects, due to the variables career grade, specialization and nationality.
The research also recommended that the faculty members should be motivated physically and morally to do scientific research, encourage them to continuous self-development in the field of scientific research, and facilitate university approval for faculty members wishing to participate in local and international conferences, and set a mandatory research map for faculty members in the scientific departments
