Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a proposed training program based on active learning in developing awareness of modern teaching methods in mathematics among student-teachers majoring in mathematics education in palestine. The study sample consisted of two groups, one control and the other experimental selected from student-teachers in aqsa university in the second semester of 2015/2016. The researcher used two tools an achievement test of knowledge of teaching methods and an observation card to assess the teaching performance. The study found statistically significant differences between the control and experimental groups in favor of the experimental group in the post application of the test of knowledge of teaching methods and post application of the  Observation card
