Development of Self-compassion to reduce neurotic perfection in academically superior adolescents.

Abstract

The study is based on a comparative descriptive approach. The sample consisted of (150) high school students (75 academically superior students) and (75 ordinary students). The following tools were also used: Neural perfectionism scale / researcher’s preparation, self-compassion scale (Prepared by Hayam Saber Shaheen, 2011). The findings of the study: There is an inverse relationship between self-compassion and neurotic perfection in academically superior adolescents (at .001 level), there is an inverse relationship between self-compassion and neurotic perfection in the ordinary group (at .001 level), There are statistically significant differences in the self-compassionate between academically superior adolescents and the ordinary ones towards the ordinary (at Level .001), There are statistically significant differences between the academically superior adolescents and ordinary in the neural perfectionism towards the superior (at the level of .001).
