Abstract

The study aimed to define the level of awareness of secondary school students on social responsibility in Islam from their perspective in light of certain variables and suggested ways of deepening it from the experts’ perspective. The study used the descriptive method, and applied two questionnaires, one of which directed to students in order to know their level of awareness on social responsibility in its dimensions (personal - family - societal), and the other is directed to faculty members to learn the suggested ways to deepen awareness of social responsibility in their (personal- family – societal- economic – ethical) dimensions. The sample consisted of (1348) male and female students in the third year of secondary stage, distributed according to variables (gender, type of education, specialization and governorate). The sample of teaching members consisted of (122) male and female members distributed according to variables (gender, degree and specialization). Results indicated that the total level of awareness on social responsibility among secondary school students was intermediate. The main dimensions were the family dimension at a moderate level, followed by the moral dimension at a moderate level, then the societal dimension at a low level, followed by the economic dimension at a low level, while the personal dimension came at a low level. Results indicated that the faculty members' approval of the suggested ways was high in total, and high on all dimensions. The suggested ways for family dimension came firstly, then personal, ethical, societal, and economic dimensions.
