Organizing academic support for preparatory year students at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University

Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the academic and supporting administrative systems in the preparatory year of the humanity track at the University of Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal. In addition identify the status of those systems from the point of students' view and suggest a mechanism for strengthen these systems. A descriptive approach was used and a questionnaire was constructed and designed using many of the guidelines including literature review, research and the personal experience of the researchers.
The results of the study showed the importance of academic and administrative support systems provided to the preparatory year students. The importance priority of these systems was as follows electronic learning, training and development of the students, learning resources, student supervision, student activities, academic supervision and social responsibility. From Study Recommendations: Based on the findings of the researchers, the study presents a set of recommendations: Supporting the e-Services Portal and enable its role in following up students through academic supervision Establishing a training unit on academic and life skills and social responsibility. Establishing a skills record for preparatory year students Designing educational programs to develop the creativity of the preparatory year students. ,updating the learning resource centers with the scientific references that serve the preparatory year courses  ،Preparing students for self-learning and using the latest technology through all academic courses.
