Ethical Leadership and its relationship to Organizational Commitment among the female principals of secondary public Schools in Riyadh

Abstract


The study sought to recognize the relationship between the ethical leadership practice among the female principals of public secondary schools and the organizational commitment among the female teachers. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher has used the descriptive correlational method and she also has used the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data from its population, which represented in all the female teachers of public secondary schools in Riyadh, reaching (6394) female teachers and the study sample has reached (361) female teachers who were selected randomly.
The study has reached a number of results, as follows:
1. The practice of ethical leadership among the female principals of public secondary school in Riyadh came with (a high degree), with a mean (4.34), where the personal characteristics acme at the first place, followed by the administrative behavior, and finally the human relations came as the lowest dimensions of ethical leadership among the female principals of secondary schools in Riyadh.
2. The organizational commitment level came with (high) degree among the female teachers of public secondary schools in Riyadh, with a mean (3.72), and a standard deviation (0.60).
3. There is a statistically significant positive relationship at the level (0.01) between the total degree of ethical leadership and its sub-dimensions (personal characteristics, administrative behavior, human relations) among female principals of secondary school in Riyadh and the organizational commitment among female teachers of secondary schools in Riyadh.
In light of the results, the researcher has made a number of recommendations, including: integration of the principles of ethical leadership among the female principals of secondary schools to be more involved in the organizational culture of schools, continuing to develop and train leadership competencies in the ethical leadership field through high quality training and development programs
