Content Analysis of Islamic Religious Educational Books for Elementary Level in Light of the Students ’Needs

Abstract

The study aimed to limit the religious needs of primary school students and classify them in a list of the main themes of these needs (cognitive needs, social needs, economic needs, political needs, physical needs) Books Islamic religious education for these needs.
This study revealed that the percentage of religious needs in the content of books of Islamic religious education is as follows:
- The percentage of knowledge needs is      67.33%
- The proportion of social needs is             18.54%
- The proportion of economic needs is       7.95%
- The proportion of political needs is                   2.87%
- The percentage of physical needs is 3.31%
By extrapolating these percentages, it is clear that:
Cognitive, social, economic, political and physical religious needs varied by 67.33%, which represents the highest frequency, and 2.88%, which represents the lowest frequency. It is clear from the large difference between the two ratios that there is an imbalance between the main needs , The first ranking was at 67.33%, the social needs ranked second with 18.54%, the economic needs ranked third by 7.95%, the physical needs ranked fourth by 3.31% and the political needs ranked fifth at 2.37 %, Which calls for the need to review the content So that it addresses the main religious needs In a balanced manner.
