Family Problems and Drug Addiction Phenomenon

Abstract

The study aimed at recognition of the family problems of the addicts which were the cause of being fallen in the addiction ,as well as identifying the influential factors that hinder the going on  for  medication  against addiction.
     There have been adopted the qualitative research methodology through the personal interview. Where a random sample of (20) persons have been selected among those who are hospitalized at  Al amal Hospital in Jeazan region. The personal interview questionnaire has been applied for collection of information  from the subject sample individuals as their situation could allow conduct of the personal interview or via one of the co patients thereof if their  situation could not allow  conduct of such interview..
      The study  came to a conclusion that, the significant results thereof,  the family problems of the addict is the main one, as it was the main cause of being felt in addiction ( bad conduct  example of the parent – addiction of one of the parent,  the parents being busily  and being away from their sons) . Furthermore, the study confirmed  that there are certain obstacles that limit the addicts from being taking the medication of addiction at AlamalHospital. Such obstacles are correlated to each others and so complicated and each factor  can not be deemed as a obstacle independent than other factors , however , they are various and complicated factors , where some one thereof are related to the medication while the others are related to the addict himself and the social environment surrounding thereof, as well as related  to the narcotic drug.
       On the light of the conclusions obtained  , the study came to recommendations , the most significant thereof is to urge the addicts to go a head in taking medicine as the medication is the necessary step for recovery from the addiction, along with emphasizing on the fact that the medication is being conducted very confidentially and it shall not impact the job and social status of the addict , as well as emphasizing on  mass media and increase of campaigns  of  alarming the damages of narcotic drugs through launch of TV programs
