ABSTRACT
The current study aimed to illustrate the family role in promoting the values of peace among the young from an Islamic educational perspective. The study made use of the descriptive and deductive methods, and consisted of three dimensions. The first dimension portrayed peace from an Islamic perspective; the second dimension addressed some peace values and the third dimension delineated the potential role of the family in promoting the peace values form an Islamic perspective. The results of the study revealed that peace is a fundamental value in Islam, which contributes to the construction of great civilization. The study highlighted the basic foundations of the call for peace which are unity of God, unity of sex and descent, full equality among Muslims in the rights, duties and worship, unity of religion, the universality of the message and the unity of the Qibla. The study identified the most important methods of social peace which are: the relationship among relatives, charity to the neighbor and the poor and taking into account the rights of Muslims. The study confirmed that terrorism is not related to religion or race and the study proved that peace comes only from the full force and ability to negotiate with the opponents. Peace in Islam is peace of strength, not peace of surrender or weakness. Peace is a humanitarian issue not just a political issue.
