The Role of the Marital Life Driving License Program in Strengthening the Principles of Marital Education for King Abdulaziz University Students in Jeddah (A Field Study)

Abstract

The current study is an attempt to identify the role of Driving license of married life Program in strengthening the foundations of marriage education among female students of King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah. It aimed to find the statistically significant differences of the knowledge level of marriage education foundations among female students enrolled and not enrolled in the program. The study aimed also at identifying the statistically significant differences of the knowledge level of marriage education foundations (moral, social, psychological, economic, health) among females students enrolled in the program due to age and social status.  Proposals introduced for developing Driving license of married life Program. The study sample consisted of 597 female students: 350 enrolled and 247 not enroll in the program. The descripitive approach and a questionnaire utilized. Results showed the positive role of Driving license of married life Program in strengthening marriage education foundations among female students enrolled in the program. There are statistically significant differences in the knowledge level of marriage education foundations among female students enrolled and not enroll in the program in favor of female students enrolled in the program.  There are statistically significant differences in the knowledge level of marriage education foundations (moral, social, psychological, economic, health) among married and unmarried female students, favoring the married. There are statistically significant differences in the knowledge level of marriage education foundations (moral, social, psychological, economic, health) among female students enrolled in the program due to age variable. Proposals for developing the program include making the program a mandatory requirement for graduation, organizing workshops for each aspect of the program, conducting a posttest for female students enrolled in the program to identify how they benefited from the program and prepared for marriage.
