Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Blackboard learning platform in developing information literacy skills among graduate students at the College of Education, Al-Baha University. The study used a quasi-experimental method and consisted of a sample of 20 graduate students in master's programs at the College of Education, who were purposively selected and divided into two groups: an experimental group (n = 10 students) and a control group (n = 10 students). The tools used in the current study included: an information literacy skills scale for graduate students and the training program, both prepared by the researcher. The study results showed statistically significant differences at the 0.01 level between the mean ranks of the control and experimental groups in the post-measurement of the information literacy skills scale and its sub-dimensions (identifying the need for information, searching for information, evaluating information, organizing information, using information ethically) in favor of the experimental group. Additionally, there were statistically significant differences at the 0.01 level between the mean ranks of the experimental group members in the pre- and post-measurements for the total score of the information literacy skills scale and its sub-dimensions, in favor of the post-measurement. There were no statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the experimental group students in the post-measurement and follow-up measurement on the information literacy skills scale and its sub-dimensions.
