Abstract

The current research aimed to measure the effectiveness of a program based on the project learning approach in light of the standards of Egypt's Vision for Education  (2030 )in developing expressive writing skills and self-esteem for hearing-impaired students at Al-Amal Schools for the Deaf and Dumb. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted an experimental approach based on a true experimental design, which relied on the random assignment of the control and experimental research groups. Then, the program based on project-based learning was designed considering psychological, philosophical, cultural, and linguistic foundations. It was then classified into a student's book and a teacher’s guide for the Arabic language for deaf students. Additionally, a list of expressive writing skills and a list of self- esteem dimensions were prepared. Based on these two lists, a test for measuring expressive writing skills and a scale for self- esteem were developed. The research sample consisted of thirty male and female students from Al-Amal Schools for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired in Mallawi City, affiliated with the Mallawi Educational Administration in Minia Governorate. Among them are ten  )10( students, who were randomly assigned to the piloting sample of deaf students in the first year of vocational secondary school, and twenty  )20 (male and female students (the research group) are deaf students, including) 10(  ten students for the control group, and  )10 (ten students for the experimental group.
