The Effectiveness of a Training Program to Develop Communication Skills in Improving Social Intelligence and Achievement Motivation among Female Students of the Faculty of Media at Al-Azhar University

Abstract

The research aims to reveal the effectiveness of a training program to develop communication skills (Listening, speaking, reading, writing ( in improving social intelligence and achievement motivation among female students of the Faculty of Media at Al-Azhar University, the sample included (18) female students, whose ages ranged between (18-20) years with an average age of (18.78) years and a standard deviation of (0.647) years, divided into an experimental group and a control group with (9) students for each group. The study belongs to experimental research, and the tools were the communication skills, social intelligence, and achievement motivation scale, and training program. The results showed statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the scores of the experimental group in the pre- and post-measurements on the communication skills, social intelligence, and achievement motivation scale in favor of the post-measurement. There were also statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement on the communication skills, social intelligence, and achievement motivation scale in favor of the experimental group. There were also no statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the scores of the experimental group in the post-test and follow-up measurements on the scale of communication skills, social intelligence and achievement motivation; indicating the effectiveness of the training program used in the research. The results emphasize the importance of integrating similar training programs into academic curricula to enhance communication skills, social intelligence, and achievement motivation among media students.
