Inspirational leadership and its Relationship to the Quality of Work Life among Teachers in Public Education Schools in Al-Kharj Governorate

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the level of inspirational leadership practice and the level of quality of work life among teachers at government public education schools in Al-Kharj Governorate, as well as to reveal the type of correlation between them. To achieve the objectives of the research, the descriptive analytical approach was used with the questionnaire tool and distributed to the study community consisting of all teachers of public education schools in Al-Kharj Governorate, of both sexes (7804) male and female teachers, and the use of the simple random sample method, where the questionnaire was distributed to the research community, and (368) valid questionnaires were retrieved for statistical analysis. The research reached several results, the most important of which is that the estimate of the members of the research sample of the degree to which the directors of public education schools in Al-Kharj Governorate practiced leadership reached an average of (2.85), that is, the degree to which they practiced mediation. And that the estimate of the members of the research sample of the level of quality of career was an average of (3.33), that is, with an intermediate degree. The existence of a significant correlation at the level of significance (0.01) between the average scores of the research sample to the degree to which the directors of public education schools in Al-Kharj Governorate practiced leadership and the quality of career of teachers. In addition, there are differences in teachers’ estimates of the degree to which school principals practice inspirational leadership and the level of quality of career life attributed to variables (gender, educational qualification, educational stage, and years of experience). Considering the results of the research, the Author recommended the following: Providing training programs for managers on leadership styles, including effective communication, motivating teachers, involving them in administrative decision-making, and providing opportunities for professional development commensurate with the needs and interests of teachers.
