Abstract

The study aimed to distinguish between differences in sleep and attention between autistic and mentally disabled children, and to verify the existence of a different correlation, in light of gender. The descriptive application of comparative correlation was used, and it was distinguished through the study from two groups; The first one is from autistic children, used from mentally disabled people. They are all (20) children of both sexes equally, and their ages ranged from (6 to 13) years, with an average age of (10.2) and a deviation of (1.39). and The study tool is: Raven’s Matrices Test, the Independent Child Diagnostic Scale: Adel Abdullah, and two scales prepared by the researcher: The comprehensive sleep scale for autistic and mentally disabled children, and the distance selection scale for autistic and mentally disabled children. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences on the comprehensive sleep scale in its three dimensions, the distance selection measurement in its four dimensions, and the communications of mentally disabled children, and the existence of a statistically significant positive interactive relationship. At the level of (0.01) between the three dimensions of sleep and four different dimensions among children with mental disabilities. With regard to the results, there is no statistically significant positive correlation at the level of (0.01) between the three dimensions of sleep and four main dimensions among children with mental disabilities. As the results mean, there are no differences. A function of the interaction between the two study groups and gender in sleep or concentration.
