Abstract

The current research aimed to develop the appropriate listening comprehension skills for fourth-grade primary stage pupils, through using the flipped classroom strategy. To achieve this goal, a list of listening comprehension skills was prepared. Moreover, the researcher prepared a listening comprehension skills test. The research tools were pre-applied to the two research groups, which consisted of (39) pupils in the experimental group, and (42) pupils in the control group. The experimental group was taught through using the flipped classroom strategy, while the control group taught in the usual way, then the study tools were post-applied to both groups, then the data was monitored and the results were interpreted. The research concluded the effectiveness of the flipped classroom strategy in developing listening comprehension skills as a whole and in each sub-skill separately. It also recommended the need for Arabic language curriculum developers to determine the appropriate listening comprehension skills for each grade, and the need to provide recent instructional means to benefit from them in developing listening comprehension skills by providing prepared audio laboratories. There is also a need to train Arabic language teachers of the primary stage on how to produce instructional videos and how to share them on various platforms.
