Abstract

In recent decades, global attention has grown to environmental issues and various environmental problems, such as the problems of pollution, climate change, depletion of natural resources and the social environment, such as problems related to justice and equitable distribution of wealth and resources.
For a long time, many researchers in the field of psychology considered that environmental problems are less related to their field of study compared to the personal and social problems experienced by humans. However, with the recent environmental problems, it is no longer possible to turn a blind eye to the crucial role that human behavior plays in causing environmental problems, as well as the role that positive human behavior can play in reducing and preserving environmental problems.
The problem of research and its questions
In the light of the lack of studies and writings that consider the field of psychology of conservation in general, and the scarcity of Arab studies and articles on this subject, there is a need to shed light on the nature of the field of psychology of conservation as a promising field of research for researchers in environmental psychology. This problem can be expressed in the form of the following questions:
1. What is the concept of the psychology of environmental conservation as a field of research and study in environmental psychology?
2. Can the psychology of environmental conservation be considered as a specialized field of psychology?
3. What is the relationship between the psychology of environmental conservation and environmental psychology?
4. What are the objectives of the psychology of preserving the environment and its main subjects as a research field?
5. What are the nature and dimensions of environmental conservation behavior as the main concern of ecology conservation?
6. How does the psychology of environmental conservation work as a meeting point between environmental and positive psychology?
7. What are the most prominent variables of positive psychology affecting the behavior of conservation of the environment?
8. What are the psychological benefits of environmental conservation behavior in accordance with positive psychology?
