Effectiveness of a developed unit in a modern curriculum (1) to develop the life skills for secondary school girls.

Abstract

Abstract

Goals: The study aims to disclose the efficiency of an advanced unit in modern curriculum (1) for life skills development for secondary school girls.
Method: The use of Semi-experimental approach.
Community of research and sample: The community of research is formed of all secondary school girls from public and private sector in the governorate of Al badaay'e',in the area of Al-Qaseem of a total number of (1302), from 10 schools.
A representative sample of 42 students were selected to represent the community of study divided into two groups, the first (21) students representing the experimental group and the second (21) students representing the reference, and after monitoring the life skills drafted by the researcher it was applied upon the two groups, before and after the experiment.
Instrument of study: A list of necessary life skills for secondary school girls was prepared and also a life skills monitor.
Using the appropriate statistical methods, the following results were obtained:
1.       There is a statistically significant difference at the level of 0.01 between the average scores of the two groups of students (in pre and post application), of life skills monitor advantaging post application process
      and the influence was substantial.
2.       There is a statistically significant difference at the level of 0.01 between the average scores of the two groups of students (experimental and reference) in post application of life skills monitor in the global score of the monitor and gathering all sub-skills except the skill of participation, where differences in this skill statistically significant at the level of 0.05,
the differences advantaging students of experimental group in all life skills.
Based on the results of the study, the researcher presented a set of recommendations  suggestions which she believes will contribute to the benefit of the study
