The causes of extremism among Jordanian youth from the viewpoint of Al-Balqa University students in the light of some variables

Abstract

The study aimed to uncover the causes of extremism among Jordanian youth from the viewpoint of Al-Balqa Applied University students in the light of some variables. The study used the descriptive method, and relied on the questionnaire to obtain data and information, and a sample of (650) students and (550) students was applied, and the study reached the following results: that the study sample answered all the paragraphs positively and considered them as reasons for extremism, occupying the paragraph that It reads “Ignorance of religion and avoiding true knowledge”, the first degree with an arithmetic average (4, 41) while the second degree came in the paragraph that reads, “The prevalence of unemployment among university graduates” with an arithmetic average (4, 35), and came in the third place the following three paragraphs With the same degree, which states: “The ambition that leads to irrational demands” with an arithmetic average (4, 31) “The limitations of the curricula and their presentation and their non-renewal in a way that suits the contemporary reality” (4, 31) “The wrong socialization of the individual” (4, 31), The results also indicated the presence of differences due to the variable of sex and in favor of males, as well as differences according to the variable of the faculty type and in the interest of human sciences, as well as differences due to the variable of the educational level in favor of the second and third year, and the results also indicated the presence of differences according to the variable of the place of housing and in favor of the city.
