Level of the social skills for Students with Learning Difficulties in the Intermediate Schools

Abstract

The study has sought to recognize on the social skills level  for Students with Learning Difficulties in the intermediate schools in Riyadh، and its relationship with some related variables represented in: Kind of difficulty that the student suffers from، and the study stage. This study has used descriptive methodology and the sample of the study is consisted of 286 students joining to learning difficulties programs  in the intermediate schools in Riyadh. The rate of the sample has represented (50%) of the total number for students registered in learning difficulties programs for year (2004-2005). The results has showed that the accepted class social behavior skill is one of the highest skills for students with learning difficulties in the intermediate stage in average (2.72) followed by skill of interaction with others in average (2.59)، then skill of the effective participation in average (2.37). As it showed that there isn't statistic significance in the social skills for students with learning difficulties after interaction with others due to the differences of learning difficulty patterns for students، but there is significant differences at (5.00) in the total degree for social skills among students that have learning difficulties in (Reading، Reading +Writing، Writing+ mathematics)، and among students that have learning difficulties in (Mathematics)، that's for the sake of students that learning difficulties in (Mathematics). Also، the results have showed that there are significant differences at (5.00) in the total degree for social skills between  students of the classes of (First and Second year) and students of third year in  the Intermediate Schools for girls، that’s for the sake of girl- students of the third intermediate year.
