Effectiveness of using imagination strategy in history teaching to develop some creative thinking skills for prep students

Abstract

The current research aimed to discover the effectiveness of using the strategy of imagination in teaching history to develop the creative thinking skills of pupils in preparatory stage . to achieve the research aim, the researcher prepared two experimental tool (the teacher’s guide and the pupils worksheets according to imagination strategy) ,and the measuring tool is the test of creative thinking skills . The sample of the research was selected from the preparatory third stage history pupils . It consisted of (60) pupil and were divided in to two equal groups , one experimental group and the oter control group .the researcher applied the tribal of test the creative thinking skills to Both groups , the results were reached parity between the two group at alevel in the creative thinking skills, and then the researcher taught the experimental group using imagination strategy as the control one was taught by regular instruction . The results showed that using the imagination strategy prove to be effective on developing creative thinking skills for the target of study. The research recommended that it is necessary to use imagination in other stages and other subjects.
