The Ruling Philosophy of The New High School System In Egypt Between Reality and Expectations “Ethnographic Study"

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the governing philosophy of the high school system, with the most important educational proposals to activate the new high school system to gain general societal acceptance. The study relied on the ethnographic approach .The study, reached several results: that the new high school system differs fundamentally from the previous systems, the transformation of education according to the new system for the development of high school to student-centered education, as well as the shift to e-learning through the tablet system, the visions of varied The sample members about the advantages of the new system for public high school, and the visions agreed on the negatives of the new system for public high school, some of which are: that the new system is a superficial change that does not address any of the dimensions of the educational system except examination and evaluation systems The visions also agreed that the superiority of decisions without a societal dialogue on a national and societal issue - high school - is one of the disadvantages of this system,. The sample also agreed on the obstacles that prevent the effectiveness of the new system for public secondary education, most notably the society’s resistance to the idea of ​​educational reform and development, the lack of the necessary infrastructure to accommodate the introduction of the “tablet” system into the educational process.
