Administrative empowerment and its impact on the academic process at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in the city of Riyadh

Abstract:
This study aims to identify the Empowerment Adminstrtive and its effect on the academic process at Imam Mohammed Bin Saud Islamic University (IMBSIU), Riyadh. To achieve this goal a sample was chosen to In cludes the deans of colleges, heads of departments, the vice-chairmen and the vice-chairmen at the female sections. The total number of participants was 82 during the academic year 1434-1435 H. After sending the surveys, 65 of them were returned, making 80% of the original sample of study. To collect data a survey of 57 points, designed by the researcher. There were two axes of focus, one for measuring the empowerment adminstrtive ( Delegation of authority, self-motivation, participation, training and development, creative behavior, and the academic dimension). The other axis was designed to measure the barriers facing the application of empowerment adminstrtive by academic leaders. The researcher used the Descriptive analytical method in this study.
 
 
The study has resulted in the following:
1- The sampled participants have agreed to a medium level of the empowerment adminstrtive at the academic leaders in: delegation of authority, self-motivation, and creative behavior). However, for the academic dimension the agreement was high.
2-The sampled participants agreed to a medium level that there are barriers facing empowerment adminstrtive at the university; the most important, in order, are: central management in decision making, hierarchy structure of the university, non-encouraging rules for initiatives, lack of teamwork style, and non-appreciation of employees achievements.
3- The result of question # 2 showed statistical variation in identifying the level of empowerment adminstrtive at the university, and it was attributed to the job’s position in the side of colleges’ deans group for all except the academic dimension.
-4 The study has also found that there was no statistical variation in the level of empowerment adminstrtive at the university, attributed to the rest of the study.
