The Status Quo of the Teachers’ Roles in the Elementary Stage in Madina and Damdany in Developing the Environmental Education among the Students from their Teachers’ Points of Views in the Light of some Variables

ABSTRACT
The current research aimed at investigating the status quo of the teachers’ roles in the elementary stage in Madina and Damdany from their points of views and the difficulties they encounter. The descriptive method was adopted for fulfilling the study purpose. A questionnaire as an instrument for data gathering was developed for collecting the study data. The participants of the study were 100 teachers (males and females). The study made use of the Statistical Package for Social Science software (SPSS) for analyzing data and information. The results of the study revealed that teachers have significant role in developing the environmental education and there are some difficulties encountered by the teachers which hinder them from performing their roles in an ideal way. The study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the teachers concerning the questionnaire dimensions that may due to the gender variable (male or female). There were statistically significant differences between the responses of the teachers in relation to the questionnaire dimensions related to the experience variable (10 years or more). Finally, there were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the teachers in relation to the dimensions of the questionnaire in the light of the teaching field.
