The Impact of Using Active Learning Strategies in teaching "An Introduction for Teaching" on the achievement of Education Faculty students at Shaqra University

Abstract

Abstract  
 This study aimed for investigating the impact of using active learning strategies in teaching "An Introduction for Teaching" on the achievement of Education Faculty students at Shaqra University in Saudi Arabia. Whereas cooperative learning and brainstorming strategies were used, and the study society was consisted of all students of Education College in Shaqra for the first semester of the academic year 1437-1438 H.  The study sample was also consisted of 38 students who were registered into two groups of An Introduction for Teaching course, and were divided equally.  One group was experimental and studied Teaching Competencies subject using two strategies from active learning strategies, and the other one studied the usual method of teaching.
     The study data were collected by using an achievement test which was specially designed for the purposes of the study, and the study showed the following results:
Finding out an effect of using cooperative learning strategies and brainstorming on academic achievement with the students of Education Faculty in Shaqra and for the good of the experimental group by teaching them "An Introduction for Teaching" course.
     The researcher has recommended the exigency of taking care of using active learning strategies in teaching students instead of the traditional methods.  As for the research level, the researcher also recommends of directing future research for studying the impact of using the other strategies of active learning on the students' achievement
