Soft Educational Power: the United Arab Emirates as a Model

Abstract

 This study aimed to monitor the extent to which the UAE’s soft educational power contributes to alleviating some of the educational problems faced by developing countries, as well as revealing the most important effects of the UAE’s soft educational power represented in providing humanitarian aid directed to the education sector to the poorest countries. It relied on the descriptive approach, and a questionnaire was designed to achieve the objectives of the study, and the results included some of the implications of providing aid in the field of education to the poorest countries, including securing the rights of girls in these countries to quality education, and contributing to preparing better educationally qualified generations. The effects of the aid provided in the field of education in the event of an emergency also included ensuring the survival of refugee children by enrolling them in schools, and supporting a range of educational programs designed for refugees. The soft educational power of the UAE was characterized by several characteristics, including: Partnership with international organizations specialized in providing aid. In the field of education, and openness to the different cultures of the countries of the world. The results of the challenges facing the soft educational power of the UAE included the following: Knowing the added value that accrues to the UAE as a result of providing education-related aid, and ensuring the continuity and sustainability of education-related aid.
